What is distillation?
Distillation
is simply the process of heating water to its boiling point, capturing
and then condensing the pure steam to form pure distilled water.
In nature this process is known as the hydrologic cycle.
Distilled
water is fast becoming recognized as a preferred drinking water.
Pure
distilled water should be used for all of your consumable needs,
or anything that goes into your body, for that matter. Whether you
consume ice cubes, soup, coffee, tea, pasta, rice, baby formula,

How much water can these systems produce?
They provide five to 60 gallons of drinking water every day. This is the equivalent of one to 12 five-gallon bottles per day. That's plenty of drinking water for most businesses. Larger systems are also available.

How important is the security of my water?
The Red Cross and FEMA both recommend only three ways to treat your water in the event of an emergency like Hurricane Katrina: boil it, chemically disinfect it, or distill it. No filters or reverse osmosis were recommended. Of these three alternatives, distillation is clearly superior.

What
Are National Primary Drinking Water Standards?
In 1974, Congress wanted to ensure safe drinking water for all
Americans. So, they developed the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).
This Act directs the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
to establish MINIMUM National Drinking Water Standards, limiting
the amount of various contaminants that threaten public health.
In 1986 and 1996, Congress passed a set of admendments that expanded
this protection provided by the Safe Drinking Water Act. These
amendments set achievable levels of drinking water quality to
protect your health.
Only two substances for which standards have been set pose an
immediate threat to health whenever ther are exceeded: BACTERIA
and NITRATES. All others, while not posing an immediate risk,
may prove harmful when ingested over long periods of time. (EPA
1994)

Primary
Standards List: How to Read the Symbols.
MCL
means Maximum Contaminant Level. The is the amount considered
"safe" to consume.
MCLG
means Maximum Contaminant Level Goal. This is an UNENFORCEABLE
HEALTH GOAL equal to the maximum level of a contaminant which
is NOT EXPECTED to cause any adverse health effects over a lifetime
of exposure and includes a margin of safety.
TT mean
Treatment Technique required. Instead of a contaminant
having an MCL or MCLG, the EPA can adopt a Primary Drinking Water
Regulation that requires the use of a specific treatment method
to be used to control a contaminant. The Agency has this option
when it is not technically or economically feasible to determine
how much of a contaminant is present in drinking water.
Only water purified by highly advanced steam distillation equipment
can reach or exceed the Maximum Contaminant Level Goal.
